North Cyprus

Cyprus is the third largest island the sea of Mediterranean, with a 75 km distance to the south of Turkey, connecting the maritime lines of the Gulf, Middle East and Europe. Other neighbouring countries include Syria and Lebanon at 105 km to the east, Israel, 200 km to the southeast and Egypt, 280 km to the south. Cyprus lived through a fascinating history, and posed an enormous strategic importance. It has a total area of 9,251km². However, it has been divided into two seperate states since 1974 – TRNC (Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the north (with the size of 3,355km²), Republic of Cyprus in the south. Green Line, a boundary protected by United Nations runs through Nicosia (Lefkoşa) separates the two states. Throughout the boundary, there are 5 crossings, providing 24-hour access for EU citizens to pass between the North and the South.

Northern Cyprus is comprised of 5 regions. These are:

-                     Kyrenia (Girne), located to the north of the island with its well-preserved historic richness, hosts a famous harbour with water-front cafes, surrounded with cobbled streets under the shadow of Kyrenia Castle since the Byzantine times. 13th century Bellapais Abbey virtually presents sceneries of the city, backed by foresty slopes of Five Finger Mountains.

-                     Nicosia (Lefkoşa), the last-remaing divided city in the world, embraces visitors within the Venetian walls and eager investors to take place among its huge potential.

-                     Güzelyurt (Morphou) with its faboulous citrus groves and close proximity to the ski resorts in the Trodos Mountains to the south.

-                     Famagusta (Mağusa) with its historical sites declared as heritages by World Monument Fund, is surrounded by sandy beaches.

-                     Karpaz Peninsula with its unspoilt nature, wildlife and beaches streching along for miles.

Northern Cyprus welcomes you with its huge business potential. Additionally, historic sites, ancient ruins, music festivals, scuba diving, mountain trekking, and championship size golf courses add marvelous leisure opportunities for serious investors.
